Watercolour Club
It started on a non-instructional snow day with a couple of students who love watercolour painting and asked to stay in at recess to paint. OK, yes, it was winter, and they may have been trying to avoid the cold weather in the school yard! But their paintings were beautiful, and they inspired several other budding watercolour artists. Within a few weeks, our little “watercolour club” had grown to over 15 students!
They’ve been choosing a multitude of subjects to paint – everything from landscapes to cartoon characters to abstract designs. Some of the students are experienced artists and others are just taking up a watercolour brush for the first time. It’s inspiring to watch how they support each other: helping a younger student tape paper to a board, giving advice about technique, or admiring a fellow student’s work. Check out some of the finished paintings below!
