Grandfriends!

Last Friday KCS hosted the annual Grandparent’s and Grandfriend’s day. It was a wonderful time of meeting new people and seeing the support and love of different generations to the young people at KCS.

I enjoy talking to the grandparents as they come in. From year to year you get to know them a bit and it makes the shared time more engaging. I was able to talk to several people about our shared Dutch heritage and hear some stories of what life was like coming to Canada over 50 years ago.

While in the classroom, students shared time with their grandparents playing games and drawing together. The students had also prepared some reasons for why they appreciate their grandparent ahead of time so grandparents could browse that bulletin board. The title of the board is “Our Grandparents Rock!”
