Kingston Fall Fair

Last week we were blessed with fantastic weather for our first field trip to the Kingston Fall Fair Education Day. In small groups, students visited various displays all centered around agriculture. We learned about the process spelt goes through to eventually become bread; touched spelt flour and even ate some delicious home-made spelt bread! We ate freshly harvested carrots and cucumbers and we were even allowed to pet cows, turkeys, pigs and alpacas (among lots of other animals)!

We also entered our very own scarecrow into a contest. I was extremely proud of how our students worked together to create Mr. Piggy out of recycled materials found around the school.

I am additionally grateful for the chaperones who accompanied us, the bus drivers on the city busses that welcomed our large group, and the volunteer organizers of the fair. What a great day!
