Education is more than literacy, numeracy, and language acquisition—education is about passing on values, beliefs, and morals to our children. For our family, KCS cultivated our children’s dreams and helped them understand the importance of compassion, inclusion, kindness, and service. Daily, the teachers loved our children, but they also expected excellence from them. Many of the collaborative learning experiences addressed issues like social justice and environmentalism and encouraged students to be creative, independent, critical thinkers and solve problems together. These values and beliefs, we hope, will carry over into their adulthood and help them become responsible, caring individuals. For us, KCS is a school that nurtured our children’s individual strengths and helped them become their own, unique person.
