KCS staff represents a diverse background of experience and church affiliations, yet they share a common devotion to Christian education in general, and to KCS in particular.

All our teachers qualify for certification with the Ontario Ministry of Education and many have advanced degrees and specializations. Click here for the 2006/07 teacher classroom assignments.

Karl Reid

Year started teaching at KCS: 1989
Certification/Degrees/Specializations: B.A., B.Ed with a specialization in French
Reason I love teaching at KCS: "Teaching at KCS has been a wonderful experience because I have been able to interact with children who are happy and have a desire to learn. There is a supportive and caring environment which enables the children I teach to express themselves freely about their faith journey with Jesus."

Anita Bull

Year started teaching at KCS: 1999
Certification/Degrees/Specializations: Bachelor of Christian Education and Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialization in Art
Reason I love teaching at KCS: "Teaching at KCS is a very rewarding experience. I get to see children develop, learn and grow in a loving environment both spiritually and mentally. Openly discussing a child's relationship with God is very exciting. I also enjoy the community closeness, which makes me feel like an extension of each family, not just a child's teacher."

Shirley Underhill

Certification/Degrees/Specializations: B.A., B.Ed with specializations in Visual Art Part 1, Special Education Part 2
Reason I love teaching at KCS: "KCS is a special place where I have the freedom to pray and share Christ's love with my students, equipping them with the skills they'll need to develop intellectually, physically and spiritually."

Ruth Ashley-Giffin

Reason I love teaching at KCS: "At KCS, parents and teachers work together to nurture and educate our children. I feel a connection to my students that is very special. I teach them, but I also pray for them and encourage them to celebrate their faith in their daily lives."

Heather Healey

Year started teaching at KCS: 2007
Certification/Degrees/Specializations: Bachelor of Music Education (Western), Bachelor of Education (York)
Reason I love teaching at KCS: "I love being able to assist in the moulding of God's Children! It is my goal as a teacher, to make each student realize how special and unique he/she is. I also feel blessed to be able to teach music, as it is such a wonderful way to praise our Lord!"

Ed Tennant

Year started teaching at KCS: 1981
Certification/Degrees/Specializations: B.Sc; B.Ed with a specialization in Math and Science; Specialist certification in Primary/Junior Mathematics, Special Education Part 2, ESL Part 1, Computers Part 1, Reading Part 2; currently completing Master of Education in Cognitive Studies at Queen's University.
Reason I love teaching at KCS: "KCS is a place where faith is naturally included as I teach the various subjects. It becomes normal for students to express and explore their relationship with God. Teaching at KCS allows me to educate the whole child--emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual."

Reason we love teaching at KCS: Caroline, Michelle and Janet all love their time at KCS and work extremely well together. “We feel very privileged to teach the nursery school children. We love being able to provide positive experiences in the early years in order to lay a good foundation for later learning. KCS is a great place to do just that, especially because parents, grandparents, and staff all work closely together to help the student’s development. KCS truly is an extension of the home.”
