KCS's full curriculum meets - and often exceeds - Ontario Ministry of Education standards.

Each student receives a solid education in reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, science and physical education, music and computers. Bible is taught as a separate subject but its principles are interwoven into the fabric of the whole curriculum.

Our teachers are careful to maintain a healthy balance between structured skill-building, creative expression and exploratory learning.  We recognize that individual children learn in various ways so while the curriculum may be similar to that of other schools, the teaching methods used at KCS are distinct.  A resource specialist provides additional academic support, if needed. The Education Committee (comprised of parent volunteers) monitors and gives input to the curriculum used by the teachers.

The arts are an important part of life at KCS. Weekly music classes include singing and theory instruction. The entire student body is involved in dramatic productions at Christmas and in the bi-annual spring musical. Students also creatively express their imaginations and emotions in visual art classes.

Recently released Canadian Tests of Basic Skills (CTBS) test scores indicate that students in Grades 3 through 8 at Kingston Christian School scored higher than other Christian Schools in Ontario - in some cases 16% higher. The CTBS provides unique, supplementary information about elementary students' development in the skills that are the long-term goals of elementary education - skills that constitute a major part of the foundation for continued learning.

When our graduates further their education, they demonstrate the effectiveness of the academic and spiritual foundation they received at KCS.
